The Heart Of Our Restaurant
The road from Naples, Italy was not quick or easy but, here is a genuine Acunto oven. The Acunto family has set the standard for pizza ovens for almost as long as the Margherita pizza has existed. We're so proud to be able to serve you pizzas out of this work of art!
Our Story
We started an all-organic, sourdough pizza pop-up at a local wine bar in Sandpoint, ID in 2020 - Panhandle Pizza Kitchen. The events quickly grew in popularity and enough demand rose for a brick and mortar location. After years of planning and figuring out how to source the best possible ingredients we're nearly ready to open The Forge Artisan Pizza. Construction should be done in Spring of 2024!

Our Food
A lot has changed since our days as Panhandle Pizza Kitchen. We've learned a lot and adjusted our style along the way. At The Forge Artisan Pizza, we'll be focusing on a few different regional pizza styles but we will not be limited to just pizza. We'll be offering homemade pastas (albeit maybe not at first) and breads too. Salads and interesting appetizers will be cycling the menu depending on what is available seasonally.
Our Location
We're at 306 Pine St. between 3rd and 4th in downtown Sandpoint, ID. We spent a LONG time looking for a good location and, once renovations are complete, we'll have the perfect spot... there's still a lot of work to do!
